PAUL ZWEIFEL
Paul is the oldest of the Zweifel duo coming from Monona, WI. As a multi-sport athlete at Monona Grove High School, he earned First Team All Conference awards in hockey and baseball and All-State hockey honors in 2008.
Paul earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from UW-Milwaukee and immediately began working with athletes. After practicing, studying, and researching the latest advances in sports performance, Paul opened Total Athlete Performance with his brother in 2016.
Paul is one of the most sought after strength coaches in the Madison area for his ability to use his passion to help athletes maximize their full potential in sport and in life. Utilizing a joint-by-joint assessment and analyzing movement patterns, Paul always takes the extra step to correct, adjust, and educate his clients. He considers himself a lifelong student, and through his varied experiences he continually seeks new and more effective ways to train his athletes.
He is the head strength coach for the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League, as well as various sports teams and clubs in the Madison area. In his free time he enjoys expanding his Strength and Conditioning knowledge over a cup of coffee just as much as his time with family, friends, and his dog Tucker.
ZACH ZWEIFEL
Hailing from Monona,WI, Zach is a lead performance coach and partner at Total Athlete Performance.
A former Al Toon Award winner (Best Senior Wide Receiver in Wisconsin), Zach shined as a first-team all-conference and all-area athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. During his final year at Monona Grove High School, Zach competed in both the WFCA and WBCA All-Star games and was able to earn a scholarship to the University of Minnesota-Duluth for football. In addition, Zach went on to play as an all-conference receiver in Minnesota for four years and currently sits at number 3 for all-time career receptions in school history. Following his years as a player Zach remained in Duluth for an additional year to serve as a wide receiver coach and assistant recruiting coordinator for the Bulldogs while finishing his degree in Exercise Science.
With years of experience in strength and conditioning, Zach’s mission as a coach is to help athletes and clients move and feel better all while making training enjoyable. As an accomplished athlete and coach, he understands that each INDIVIDUAL deserves a detailed approach when it comes to maximizing results in competition or in life. The science of human performance is intricate, and Zach’s coaching philosophy reflects just that in his attention to detail and individualized program design. No matter the age, sport, gender, limitations or goals, his step by step approach to building a complete foundation for athletes and general population clients is unparalleled.
Zach’s training concepts come from numerous leaders in this industry that he would consider some of his idols. Training approaches from Joe DeFranco, Eric Cressey, Robert Dos Remedios, Mike Boyle, Lee Taft, and many more are implemented into his coaching and programming daily. As a lifelong learner, he is currently certified through the IYCA as a Speed and Agility Specialist. Using this knowledge, he specializes in developing explosive team sport athletes through extensive acceleration/deceleration techniques, and utilizes chaotic/reactive training to create game-like agility and quickness. With experience in competing and coaching football at the collegiate level, Zach also leads sport-specific sessions for skill players such as Wide Receivers, Running Backs, Quarterbacks, and Defensive Backs.
MOIRA RUHLY
Moira is originally from New York and graduated from Providence College with a B.A. and M.A. in History. At Providence she was a 3 sport Division 1 athlete and captained her teams in Soccer, Cross Country and Track and Field. She garnered 4 All-American Honors as well as Big East Championships in both Soccer and Cross Country, and finished her senior year as a National Champion in Cross Country. During the summers of her college years she played Semi-Pro Soccer for the Rhode Island Stingrays.
Ruhly ran professionally for Team New Balance from 1996-1998. From 1999-2006 she was the Head Coach for Lawrence University Women’s Soccer and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, and Track and Field. In 2009 she was inducted into the Providence College Athletic Hall of Fame for Soccer, Cross Country, and Track and Field.
Ruhly is a sport specific certified coach through USA Triathlon, USA Track and Field, and the United Soccer Coaches of America. On top of being a Certified Personal Trainer, she is a TRX and TRX RipTrainer Level 3 Instructor.
The 23 years of coaching experience has equipped her with highly effective ways of teaching, training, and helping people from all walks of life accomplish their goals. Quality instruction and proper training programs have been a significant piece to her success as an athlete and coach. Moira’s wealth of knowledge and individual based training approach is a perfect addition to Total Athlete Performance.
ZACH CAMPBELL
Zach is originally from Wisconsin Rapids where he was a multi-sport athlete playing hockey and football. He was a First team All-Conference and All-State hockey player in 2012.
Campbell earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. In 2016, Zach began his strength and conditioning career training athletes of all sports at Acceleration North in Minneapolis, MN. In the winter of 2018 Zach traveled to Fort Lauderdale, FL to help the team at XPE train 30 football players in preparation for the NFL combine.
Finding the right niche in the midwest to continue his career in helping athletes was his next step and Madison, WI was calling his name. His confidence, personable skills, and his ability to work with athletes of all types and levels makes him the PERFECT addition to Total Athlete Performance.
Campbell strongly believes in functional strength training, proper acceleration/speed mechanics, and movement skill/problem solving as keys to a successful training regiment. Zach likes to learn from some of the top coaches in the industry such as Cal Dietz, Matt Gates, Tony Villiani, Gerry DeFilippo, and Chris Barnard.

ZACH NOVOTNY
Zach grew up in Oregon, WI where he was a two-sport athlete, playing football (earning conference awards), and track & field.
Novotny recently graduated cum laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in 2019. At UW-L, Zach continued his athletic career where he competed in football playing fullback for 3 years, while also serving as an undergraduate sports performance intern with the Eagles football, basketball, tennis, baseball, and gymnastics teams.
Before graduating, Zach was able to expand his practical knowledge by completing a strength and conditioning internship through Mayo Clinic- Rochester working with all high school sports. Most recently he worked as an intern sports performance coach at the University of Wisconsin working alongside the Badgers basketball, hockey, golf, cheer, and dance teams. Having worked with all levels of athletes, from youth to elite division 1 and professional athletes, makes Zach an integral piece to Total Athlete Performance.
As a young coach, Novotny brings with him a fresh perspective on training and sports performance. Zach’s philosophy is to motivate each athlete while equipping them with a strong foundation in optimal human movement. Zach likes to learn from some of the top coaches in the industry such as Jim Snider, Paul Fabritz, and Loren Landow.
Zach is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), USAW-L1 Coach, and RPR-L1 certified.
